Bridgett - So do I :)

Sefa - I think I might just become Indonesian since I seem to have quite an affinity for your dishes :D

Retno - Thank you :)

Dave - Glad you like it and thanks for sharing your thoughts on soups.

Mansi - Thanks for hosting, can't wait to see the other recipes....in fact I'll check to see if it's not up already :)

Ivy - Oh, I know what you mean, we have the same temperatures as you have in Greece so as soon as a cloudy day showed up I jumped to make this soup. Besides you can always serve it lukewarm with a glass o fresh buttermilk and it's quite refreshing.

Shreya - Thank you so much for your sweet compliment :)

Sig - :D Haha, I'm glad you did. You're right, kids like this one.

Tartasacher - Why, thank you (blushing pause :) )!

Priscilla - Glad you like the pics :)

Tigerfish - :)) Haha there's no cauliflower in there, those are the shreds. You're right, as long as it tastes good that's usually all that matters.

Deepthi Shankar - Healthy food is the best :)

Rosemary - My mom and I are the only soup fans in my new extended family so I know how that is...in a few words: MORE FOR US ;)

Grace - Thanks! Your criteria sounds logical enough to me...mine on the other hand isn't :D

Laurie - Thank you :) That sounds yummy, will have to check Celine's site!

Notyet100 - Glad you like it :)

Jeff - What I've noticed over the years is that men usually prefer chunky soups probably linked to the fact that they're almost always meat fans...so they prefer biting into food over almost drinking it. On the other hand most men don't seem to enjoy soup at all. Nice to see you do.

Lori Lynn, Jenny and Farida - Nice to see you like it!

Clumbsy Cookie - Your routine sounds very healthy :)

Sharon and Nicisme - Thanks!

Dragon - Interesting, for me it's the other way around :D. Thanks!

Liliana and Roma - Glad you like it :)

Kim - So would I :D

Maryann and Erin - Thank you :)

Corinne - That sounds delicious and would definitely bring fans of both types of soup at the same table ;)

Paula - You're a girl after my own soul :) Glad you love the shreds, they are my favourite too.

Van - Thanks and I'm really glad you like my soup :D

Pam - Signing you up for the soup club hehe ;)

Farida - It did check it out. Thank you so much, it's always nice to be appreciated! :)

Dhanggit - I'm signing you up too ;)

A&N - Thanks, you should give it a try and you might just never have another shredless soup again ;)

Sam - They do indeed sound delicious and like a meal by themselves.

Farina - Mixing the rice with one ladle of clear soup always makes it better.

Rachel - Guess my mom was lucky she didn't have to pull tricks on me so I would eat my veggies, I love them since I was a kid with only one exception: raw carrots...did that make me a weird kid? Oh, and another thing... Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny were too scary for me those days ;) I'll sign you up for the blended soup club then.

As much as I hate to admit this as an adult, but I still cringe at bowls of vegetables. That's why I actually like a blended vegetable soups. That way there is a uniform texture and no one particular flavor stands out. Does that make me weird?

(Actually, there is probably a long list of other things that make me weird. My soup preferences will just have to get in line.)

Hi Lore

where i come fr the soup is part of the many dishes on the table. As a Malay, we would have rice and few dishes whc normally comprises of 1-2 kind of meat, 1-2 kind of veggies and somthing soupy (clear soup) which we add to the rice so its easier to eat.

One day i would post the typical Malay spread. ;)

Now that is one healthy soup alright! The "shreds" in the title kind of threw me off until I actually got through the recipe. As for my own soup preference, most of the soups I ate while growing up were Greek soups and as such were pretty much meals in themselves. From creamy avgolemono soups to chickpea or lentil or black-eyed bean soups, Greek soups tend to be quite hearty and filling. Which is not to say that I don't appreciate starter soups, I most certainly do, especially ones with "shreds"! :)

I'm a big time soup girl. I enjoy it year round, and I love it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Your recipe looks terrific as a wonderful stand alone meal. I love those shreds! Yum!
