Cauliflower-Cheese Savoury Cakes With Potato Dough

Sunday, 31 August 2008 by Lore

Remember my strawberry-walnut cakes with sour cream and potato dough? You are now looking at its savoury version :) . I wanted to make a savoury version mostly because there was a potato dough involed that would work out nicely with a spread of cheese and sour cream (the fact that I’m a savoury addict has nothing to do with it ;) ). Oh and by the way, you can also use this spread on your toast in the morning…I did and I loved it!

I did change a couple of things in the dough: I left out the vanilla sugar and the fructose and I added salt (not too much since the Feta in the spread was pretty salty) and chopped parsley instead.

I really enjoy having my side dish veggies in a cake :) . You can also try making these smaller and serve them as lovely appetizers. Read all »

Courgette/ Zucchini Cakes

Monday, 11 August 2008 by Lore

I have a confession to make: I was one of those weird kids who loved veggies. My mom must have been the happiest mom on the planet because she didn’t need to come up with tricks so I would eat them. However there were a few exceptions: raw carrots and cooked courgettes. I’m still pretty picky with the carrots but when it comes to courgettes I honestly can’t remember why I didn’t like them back then. Now, I can’t wait for them to be in season! Love that they are so versatile and I can make appetizers, cakes and all sorts of side dishes out of them.
