Original Recipes - Monthly Round-Up Event

You already know that the first edition of Original Recipes Round-Up was the first time I’ve hosted a round-up on Culinarty. Have you yet seen the incredibly creative recipes that were sent in for the event? That was good stuff! Don’t forget to check them out here.

I know many of you really liked the idea behind the Original Recipes Round-Up. Thanks to your sweet comments I decided to make it a monthly event :D

For those of you who aren’t yet familiar with Original Recipes, here’s an extract of the concept behind the event:

I’m always itching to read and try original recipes as I believe they usually turn out better than cookbook recipes. Concoctions born out of despair when trying to fix something we thought to be ruined, others that come up as a way of playing in the kitchen or just ideas that you put into practice hoping to make your kids or better half eat a bit more of this or a bit more of that….they all bring us great satisfaction when a success!

This is an event that also wants to encourage those of you who for one reason or another have never tried to create a recipe and to prove there’s nothing to be afraid of. Sure their is trial and sure there’s some error but there’s always something you learn and once you “master” the basic principles there’s a whole world out there waiting to be discovered so you’ll have lots of fun.

The rules will remain the same so if you’d like to join the fun here they are:

  1. Create a recipe and write a post about it on your blog.
  2. Include the event logo with a link to this announcement. This way more people might found out about the event and participate or just check out the round-ups.
  3. Email me at between this month 15th and next month 15th with the following info:
    * Your name/nickname
    * Your blog’s name
    * Your post URL
    * Recipe name
    * A short description of your dish that will appear in the round-up (no one else will describe it better than its creator, right? )
    * Please attach a 250 pixels wide photo of your dish
  4. Since I would like this to be as less restrictive as possible you’re welcome to send me as many recipes as you’d like. Also, don’t worry if you want to use your post to participate to other events too, you can still submit it to Original Recipes if you follow the rules.
  5. I will be posting the round-up a few days after the deadline.
  6. All entries received after the current month’s deadline will be included in the next month’s round-up. This way no yummy recipe will get lost. (Let’s say you send your entry on December 16th, your recipe will be included in January’s round-up)

And hey you know me: I’m always looking forward to receiving your yummy culinary concoctions :) so I can empty my fridge thanks to the craving effect :D
