Don’t Judge The Book By Its Cover
Look at them…aren’t they standing pretty with the pomegranate arils in the middle? And what about the chocolate dough covered in coconut, doesn’t that wake up your taste buds?
Well, I hate to ruin it for you but these went straight in the trash can because they didn’t even taste half as good as they looked. I thought I could make some changes to one of my galette recipes and turn it into a mini-cake dough but they were a total disaster. I’m not giving up though, I will not rest until I make some delicious mini-cakes out of that dough
(I still think the chocolate-pomegranate combo is a delish idea).

How bad could they be with chocolate, pomegranate and coconut? I would still eat them
Lol! Sush a shame
Yes keep trying, coconut, chocolate and pomegranate has to be good!
Yeah, how can something with chocolate be bad, lol
Waiting for the original recipe!
really???? and they look so good too… i can’t wait for the follow-up…
Those would be gorgeous during the holidays. I’d make them for neighbors or a party!
Thanks Lore, try the same coating of Chocolate dusted with coconut on a sponge cake.It is lamington and looks quite similiar to these.
you got me here lore, i love this combo! i would never imagine putting them altogether. you are really one magician! yummy
Hug….we have all been there. Beautiful looking dish with all this anticipation and yuck!!
Keep trying because you are onto something here.
I exactly know what are you talking abt!! It happens to me for all my baking experiment :(…they just look gud ! All the best for your trials & Errors sessions
I love pomegranate; I love chocolate; so why not try something pomegranate-chocolate?!
I think I learn the most from my culinary disasters. Seriously. They push me to rethink, regroup and try again as a cook. (Yet I feel just awful whenever something turns out so bad I have to waste them in the trash bin. It’s really got to taste unbearable before I’ll go to that extreme.)
Wow. I was really excited because I love the ingredients you used. This happens to all of us. Better luck next time.
WOW that woke me right up at first site! Just beautiful and no doubt tastes just as good
Ahhh to bad they didn’t turn out, that’s a bummer… but still look so good..
Ha! That’s hilarious, those sneeky little desserts.
Really?!! They do look good!
straight into the trash? how sad, because you’re right–the look and concept of them is amazing. better luck next time!
LOL - they do look delicious. Don’t ya hate it when it looks good but tastes blah, or looks blah but tastes fantastic?
Well you had me fooled, Lore
Pomegranate and chocolate does indeed sound great… and honestly, if there’s someone that can make that work, it’s going to be Lore
oh, so bad to hear that
It looks good though, what’s wrong with it?
Lore, only you can make something bad looks devilishly pretty! lol.
i wonder if its the dough that makes them taste weird?
Lore, I feel for your frustration… but once the result (hope just one more try for you!) turns out what we want, it is priceless, isn’t it. Look forward to your good news!
They really do look delicious & Pomegranate, chocolate & coconut - I’m sold
Rosie x
Wow Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmy.
Ha! that’s great… sometimes kitchen experiments turn out, sometimes they don’t. You made me laugh with this post. thanks! :0
